
Tony Wilder
Kentucky Department of Local Government – Commissioner
Commissioner Tony Wilder was appointed by Governor Beshear as Commissioner of the Department for Local Government (DLG) in April 2008.
Prior to his appointment, Wilder served as Boyle County Judge/Executive for over 14 years. He was also Boyle County Circuit Court Clerk from 1988-93. During his term as County Judge/Executive, Commissioner Wilder held leadership roles such as President of both the Kentucky County Judge/Executive Association and the Kentucky Association of Counties.
At the Department for Local Government, Commissioner Wilder spearheads all federal and state grants projects, administering over $111 million. He also serves as the Appalachian Regional Commission Alternate for Governor Beshear.
In conjunction with his role as Commissioner, he serves on the Kentucky Housing Corporation Board, PRIDE, and is Chairman of the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority. He remains active in his community by serving in the Lions Club and other various organizations.
Commissioner Wilder received his bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Eastern Kentucky University and currently resides in Danville with his wife, Sandy, and their two children.
