Blue Grass Community Foundation – President and CEO

Lisa Adkins is president and CEO of Blue Grass Community Foundation, comprised of more than 227 charitable funds. Since 1976 it has made over $17 million in grants to the community.  Lisa is responsible for providing the vision and strategic direction of the Foundation. She was named president and CEO in 2009.

Prior to that she worked for 15 years with the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and as president/ CEO of YouthFriends, a school-based mentoring initiative. Previously, Lisa practiced law, working as an assistant district attorney focused on the prosecution of sex crimes and child abuse and as a corporate litigator. Lisa and her family organize their charitable giving through the Adkins Family Foundation Fund at the Community Foundation.

Lisa received her undergraduate degree - with Honors and Distinction - and her law degree from the University of Kansas where she served as student body president and was named a Rice Scholar.
